Multideck Maker: Basic Layout Details

Multideck Maker -> Deck Templates -> Basic Layout

Within the Link Spreadsheet each row is a card, and each column is a feature of the card. At the top of each column is the name of the card feature.

The details and expected inputs for each column are listed below:

CardName: Expected input: NA. This column is used to help with organization and keeping track of each card. It does not contribute to the content on the cards.

Background, Rank and Suit:

BackgroundImage: Expected input: file path to image. This image spans the entirety of the card and is the bottom-most layer. In the “Deck Components” folder you can find a growing collection of images with names staring with “Background…” that are designed specifically for this purpose.

Example input: ..\..\Deck Components\Singularity Deck 2.0\Background Frame 1.png

BackgroundColor: Expected input: Hexadecimal color code. This column alters the color of the background image.

FontColor: Expected input: Hexadecimal color code. This column changes the color of the text on the card.

TopRankText: Expected input: text. The rank on the upper-left and upper-right of the of the card.

Example input: R

TopRankImage: Expected input: file path to image. An image in the same location as the TopRankText. It sits behind the rank text. This is useful for alternative ranks such as dice.

Example input: ..\..\Deck Components\Singularity Deck 3.0\Dice D6-5 Hollow.png

BottomRankText: Expected input: text. The rank at the lower-left and lower-right of the card.

Example input: R

BottomRankImage: Expected input: file path to image. An image in the same location as the BottomRankText. It sits behind the rank text.

Example input: ..\..\Deck Components\Singularity Deck 3.0\Dice D6-5 Hollow.png

SuitImage: Expected input: file path to image. The primary suit that will go in each corner of the image. Note the SuitImage will continue to the next card if this column is left empty for a row. To turn off a suit without replacing it, use the 'Icon Empty.png" image.

Example input: ..\..\Deck Components\Singularity Deck 3.0\Icon Earth Clubs.png

SuitColor: Expected input: Hexadecimal color code. The color of the SuitImage.

Face Images and Colors:
These columns control the face cards of the deck (i.e royal cards, special rank-12 artwork, etc.). The images span the entirety of the card. The 4 layers are used for the royal cards which are split into 3 pieces of art: Base, Accent, Hand and Item layers.

FaceImage1: Expected input: file path to image.

Example ..\..\Deck Components\Singularity Deck 3.0\Queen 5.png

FaceColor1: Expected input: Hexadecimal color code.

FaceImage2: Expected input: file path to image.

Example input: ..\..\Deck Components\Singularity Deck 3.0\Queen 5 Accent.png

FaceColor2: Expected input: Hexadecimal color code.

FaceImage3: Expected input: file path to image.

Example input ..\..\Deck Components\Singularity Deck 3.0\Hand 1.png

FaceColor3: Expected input: Hexadecimal color code.

FaceImage4: Expected input: file path to image.

Example input ..\..\Deck Components\Singularity Deck 3.0\Item H1 Torch.png

Note: Each item has a different hand shape associated with it. In the above example the filename includes an "H1." This indicates to use the "Hand 1.png" file.

FaceColor4: Expected input: Hexadecimal color code.

Combined, with color codes, these images result in:

FaceFlag: Expected Input: N,H. This column controls the orientation of the face images. The letter N must always be included for the face images to display properly, because it controls image transparency. The letter H may optionally be used to mirror the face images horizontally.

Example input: NH

Pip Groups: These columns control the Pips at the center of the cards. The assumption is that the card has either “Face Images” or pips, however it is completely possible to include both. The basic layout has 2 pip layers. The icon for the primary suit is determined by the “SuitImage” column, and the modifier pip icon is determined by the SuitModifierImage column.

Each pip is designated a letter when determining the pip layout:Primary suit icon = P
modifier icon = M
empty space = x
new row = >

SuitPipGroup: Expected input: pip group designators for the primary suit.

Example input: xPx>PP>PPP>PP>xPx

SuitModifierImage: Expected input: file path to image. Icon for the Suit Modifier. Ex. “Icon Hearts Mod.png”

SuitModifierColor: Expected input: Hexadecimal color code. The color of the Suit Modifier icon

SuitModifierPipGroup: Expected input: pip group designators for the modifier suit.

Example input: MxM>MM>MxM>MM>MxM

Combined, with color codes, this results in:

HeaderText: Expected input: text. Text at the top and bottom of the card. This is useful for adding a name or roles to a card. The text box spans from the top or bottom to the center, which allows spacing to be controlled by adding paragraph breaks in the link file.

Example input:
